First week
During the semester break, I looked into what was lacking in my dissertation, and while searching for materials because the reading section seemed inadequate, I came across a book called 'Information architecture of the world wide web'. This book was helpful in supplementing the dissertation section because it provided a considerable amount of content on the information structure of the Internet, how it is formed, and how to arrange it in web design.
The part that was particularly helpful was the part about supplement system and embedded system in the explanation of web design. I don't think I have researched this 'framework' in detail in my previous web design, but by gaining insight into this part, I was able to gain some fundamental understanding of web design. Also, by including this in the dissertation, I was able to get a feel for what parts should be included in my project design.
The next part that I gained insight into was the part about the problems with the existing web design format, and this book mainly addressed two problems.
1. Inconvenience of browsing hierarchical architecture
2. Lack of visual representation in navigation
Since the project included content such as visual representation, the author's suggestion of this part was a good starting point for the second semester.
Prototype
In terms of the web design project, I received feedback and developed it a bit while thinking about some improvements. I think the main thing I thought about was the UI/UX part. As a creator, I was able to fully understand and operate this website, but I thought there might be some confusing things for users, and since I used an iframe to load content in the cube placed in the center, the incongruity when operating other spaces and the iframe part could also be uncomfortable. I tried to solve this by creating a 'button' in the last prototype, but it didn't work as well as I thought. When I thought about this, I thought it was very important to think from the user's perspective. Users who are using the website I am creating for the first time should be able to understand the structure of the website in terms of the interface at once, and they should not feel uncomfortable while operating it, so I felt that there was a lot of room for improvement.
In terms of interface, if the first page you see starts with a topview of an entirely 3D environment, I thought it would be very confusing for users, so I changed the layout to maintain the existing 3D and the concept of being able to view multiple pages in rotation, but place the pages full on the right and place the navigation model only on the left, so that when you click on the image of the cube on the left, the content on the right is placed. In addition, I changed it intuitively while maintaining the existing concept by configuring the right page to have four sides that you can turn around.

Dissertation feedback
While writing the dissertation, I had some doubts about how the approaches and methods part and the discussion part should be divided, so I received feedback based on the suitability of this and the three questions I set as objectives.
I realized that the content of the "Three Questions" is somewhat broad and needs to be narrowed down. Both my dissertation and grad project are too ambitious and have a wide scope, so I was advised to narrow them down. Initially, I thought that the questions and issues my project addresses were appropriately scoped and could be applied to a section of the "Knowledge Web" website. However, through this feedback, I realized that clear scoping is necessary for both aspects.
Since I already had a rough plan for the structure of my dissertation, I decided to focus on receiving feedback specifically on the approaches and methods section while concentrating on outlining my grad project. Since I believe my dissertation and grad project are closely related, I thought that establishing the framework for the grad project first would make structuring the dissertation much easier.
To move forward with this plan, I began experimenting with the layout and structure. -> week 2
